Banking Analyst – Capital Markets – Custody – Securities Processing – Financial Services – Research – Risk - Investor Services - Operations Analyst

Our client, a market leading boutique consultancy who provide risk analysis to financial institutions require a Banking Analyst on a permanent basis. Sitting within the Capital Markets team, this individual will be responsible for the completeness and accuracy of information and risk analysis on securities market practices and market infrastructures for a top tier client base, including the world’s leading banks, broker/dealers and institutional investors. 

There will be the opportunity to travel to conduct operational reviews of market infrastructures as appropriate. This role is likely to suit an individual with a few years’ experience in the securities industry with a background in (or close interacting with) custody, settlements or clearing. Strong graduates will also be considered.

Requirements:
  • Ideally 1-3 years experience in custody, securities services or related role within the financial services industry. High-calibre graduates will also be considered.
  • Understanding of capital markets structure and transaction life-cycles.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of the operational custody processes including trade capture, pre-matching, settlement, income collection, corporate actions, foreign exchange and taxation
  • Understanding of the credit rating agencies e.g. S&P Moody’s, Fitch
  • Understanding of Cash, FX and Treasury operations and their relevant importance would be advantageous
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to absorb data, analyse, compartmentalize and present in reports
  • Strong, effective and fluent oral and written communication skills in English
  • IT proficient including MS Office tools
  • Able to work individually and/or as a team, be a self-starter that is flexible, adaptable and resourceful
  • Be able to identify solutions and improvements to current processes and deliverables
  • Work well under pressure, maintaining a very high quality of deliverables to tight deadlines
  • BA/BSc degree ideally in a finance, economics or mathematics-related subject
