Business Improvement Consultant – Data – Lloyd’s Insurance - City

This position is highly commercial, data driven & critical for the business to achieve ambitious growth targets.

The role:
  • To review and improve business processes across Underwriting Operations, working with IT where changes to systems are required.
  • Work with Outsourced Service Providers to improve service levels and quality
  • To work with Underwriters to release and maintain products on on-line distribution platforms along with managing support from the suppliers.
Key responsibilities
  • Lead process reviews to improve productivity, service levels and data quality along with overseeing successful implementation and meeting of improvement objectives
  • Provide a continual feedback to process owners and help them identify process changes that would improve productivity, service levels and data quality;
  • Work with Underwriters to define product specifications for implementation on trading platforms along with defining business processes across the distribution chain;
  • Work with suppliers to configure platforms to distribute products and support minor configuration changes. 
  • To test product/platform releases 
Experience required:
  • Ability to work independently
  • MS Office, with advanced Excel and Visio
  • Knowledge and experience of the Lloyd’s insurance market preferably within in a Syndicate or Managing agent environment.
  • Business Process Analysis
  • Change Management
  • Producing business cases
  • Writing business process and work instructions
  • Planning and Management of small projects (2-3 people for 4–8 weeks)
  • Application Acceptance Test Planning and Management
  • System Acceptance Testing
Must haves:
  • Good understanding of Commercial Insurance knowledge
    • Understanding the implementation of data.
    • Ability to improve the quality of data.
  • Ability to talk the same language as the business.
  • Able to generate solutions to the business
  • Change Background
  • Exposure of Data Definition
  • Good Excel knowledge – up to Macro level
  • Ability / exposure to manage small project teams.
