Reporting Relationships
Reporting into the Westfield Specialty International (WSI) Head of Applications.
Main Purpose of Role
• To create, manage, tune, development, and remediate WSI’s database estate (currently Sql Server and Snowflake - Optional).
Key Accountabilities
• Monitor health of WSI’s databases.
• Develop database DDL and DML code, including by not limited to functions, views, tables, stored procedures.
• Develop, implement, and monitor database backups and recovery within an Azure environment.
• Work with development and support teams to remediate database failures.
• Proactively tune the databases using maintenance plans.
• Liaise with Managed Service provider to deploy changes to the environment.
• Work in concert with and manage data architect role holder.
Role Requirements
• The WSI DBA will be responsible for the health and performance of WSI’s Azure based databases. Working closely with the Head of Applications, the application developers, and support teams, the DBA will be involved in all aspects of database creation, development, support and tuning.

Qualifications
•
Experience
• Experience in managing multiple databases and instances in a cloud environment.
• Experience in developing and remediating database views, functions, and stored procedures.
• Experience in ETL and Analytics technologies (SSIS, SSAS, Click Replicate, Snowflake, Power BI)
• Working for a medium size organisation in a period of rapid change.
• London Market experience preferred.
• Lloyds experience desirable,
