Each festive season our colleagues at Cornwallis Elt choose a charity to donate to. This year we’ve chosen a charity that has become close to all our hearts, with our director Russell personally experiencing, and advocating for, the excellent care provided by Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Moorfields Eye Charity is now the largest charity in the UK dedicated to funding eye health and the main fundraising and grant-making charity for Moorfields Eye Hospital and its academic partners the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. They fund pioneering researchers and the training of current and future health care professionals. They support the development of Moorfields’ staff to ensure the care they provide is outstanding, as well as new equipment and improvements in the experience of Moorfields’ patients and their families.
In partnership with Moorfields and UCL, Moorfields Eye Charity is working to create Oriel, a new world-class centre for advancing integrated clinical care, teaching and research in eye health near St Pancras, in London’s knowledge quarter in 2026-27. The transformation in working practices enabled by the new centre will benefit millions of patients in the UK and across the world.
Cornwallis Elt has care and the community at our heart and our colleagues are committed to supporting both national charities and causes closer to home. Our annual Christmas donation is just one of the ways that we give back throughout the year and we’re looking forward to pro-actively supporting our colleagues, customers, and communities further in 2022.
We hope you’ll give your support to such a fantastic cause this Christmas and should you wish to donate to Moorfields Eye Charity, please click here.
A Merry Cornwallis Christmas from all of us x
