Software Engineer - Python, Alternative Investments, Pandas, Numpy, Azure - Investment Management - London/Hybrid - up to £70,000 base
My client is a leading global investment management business looking to hire a Software Engineer within their Alternatives Technology team. The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of applications supporting Diversified Alternatives and Liquid Alternatives investment teams and remit includes trading, risk, performance, attribution, quant and operational systems. This is a hands-on technical role, and the incumbent will be expected to be a technical owner of key components from requirements gathering, to delivery and support.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Perform hands-on development and testing, adhering to the framework, processes and practices aligned with the team for technology delivery.
- Work closely with the Team Lead, Technical Lead and wider team in delivering to project/business timelines.
- Perform basic support duties on Alternatives-specific systems and processes.
Desired skills:
- Strong experience of Python, with libraries/frameworks including Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.
- 2+ years Buy-Side experience, with a proven background in working with data centric systems. A background of working at a Hedge Fund or within an Alternative Investment environment is highly desirable.
- An understanding of Databricks.
- Experience building data pipelines or ETL tools and orchestration frameworks such as Airflow.
