Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Product Owner to take ownership of the rollout of a critical POS platform at a leading global investment bank. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering an essential financial product.
The ideal candidate will have experience in product ownership, a deep understanding of payments solutions (preferably PDQ systems), and a strong ability to collaborate with both technical teams and external vendors. As the Technical Product Owner, you will work closely with technical resources to ensure the successful, timely, and efficient delivery of the payments product, while also fostering a strong working relationship with the incumbent vendor.

Key Responsibilities:
• Product Rollout Ownership: Take full responsibility for the successful rollout of the POS platform product, ensuring it meets the defined business objectives and technical requirements.
• Vendor Management: Build and maintain a strong, effective relationship with the incumbent vendor, collaborating on product improvements, troubleshooting, and ensuring delivery timelines are adhered to.
• Collaboration with Technical Teams: Work closely with development teams, architects, and other stakeholders to define product features, gather technical requirements, and ensure the smooth integration of the payments platform.
• Stakeholder Communication: Engage with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to provide regular updates on progress, risks, and issues, ensuring alignment across teams.
• Timely Delivery: Manage the delivery schedule to ensure the product is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
• Product Roadmap and Backlog Management: Own the product backlog, prioritise features, and define user stories and acceptance criteria based on business needs and technical feasibility.
• Problem Solving and Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve challenges, risks, and obstacles that may impact the timely delivery of the platform.

Requirements:
• Experience: Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner or in a similar product management role, preferably within the payments or financial services industry.
• Payments Knowledge: Strong understanding of payments platforms and technologies (POS), ideally including experience with PDQ (Point of Sale Devices) and payment processing systems.
• Vendor Management: Ability to develop and manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring that service delivery aligns with expectations.
• Agile Methodology: Experience working within an Agile framework (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to manage product development and delivery.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Technical Understanding: A solid technical background with the ability to understand system architectures, integrations, and product development lifecycles.
• Project Management: Strong organisational skills with experience managing product roadmaps, backlogs, and delivery timelines.
• Financial Services Experience: Prior experience working within an investment banking or financial services environment is highly desirable.
